Rientro ad Istrana degli AMX del 132° GRUPPO / 51° STORMO dal Royal International Air Tattoo 2023
La partecipazione dell’Aeronautica Militare all’edizione 2023 del Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), tenutosi dal 14 al 16 luglio presso la RAF Fairford, nel Gloucestershire, England, è stata la più numerosa di sempre in termini di aeromobili ad ala fissa e rotante, in quanto volutamente legata al filo conduttore delle celebrazioni del “Centenario” di costituzione della Aeronautica, quale Forza Armata autonoma.
Tra i velivoli della compagine italiana, non poteva mancare l’AMX Ghibli, presente in entrambe le versioni monoposto A-11B e biposto TA-11B, monoposto tra l’altro dipinto con la splendida livrea celebrativa degli 80 anni del 103° Gruppo, dal 2016 in posizione quadro, però realizzata su un velivolo del 132° Gruppo, ultimo reparto della Aeronautica Militare ad operare con il Ghibli.
Lunedì pomeriggio verso le 18.00, dopo un volo senza scalo da RAF Fairford, la copia di AMX è rientrata alla propria base di Istrana, sede del 51° Stormo “Ferruccio Serafini”, da cui il 132° Gruppo dipende. E’ stata occasione per testimoniare, ed immortalare con scatti fotografici, lo storico rientro da una delle più importanti manifestazioni aeree al mondo, forse la più importante e famosa di tutte, oltre che salutare e complimentarsi con gli equipaggi dei due velivoli.

Return to Istrana of the 132°GRUPPO / 51° STORMO AMX partecipants the Royal International Air Tattoo 2023
The participation of the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force) in the 2023 edition of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), held from 14 to 16 July at RAF Fairford, in Gloucestershire, England, was the most massive ever in terms of number of fixed and rotary wing aircraft involved, as this year the presence was deliberately linked to the celebration of the “Centenary” of the establishment of the Aeronautica Militare as an autonomous Armed Force.
Among the aircraft of the Italian Team, the AMX Ghibli could not be missing the event. This model participated with both the single-seater and two-seater versions. The single-seater painted with beautiful livery celebrating the 80th anniversary of the 103° Gruppo (Squadron), from 2016 deactivated, but livery realized on a 132° Gruppo (Squadron) aircraft, the last unit of the Aeronautica Militare to operate the AMX Ghibli.
Monday 17 July, around 6:00 pm, after a non-stop flight from RAF Fairford, the pair of AMX came back to Istrana, home base of the 51° Stormo (Wing) entitled to “Ferruccio Serafini”, of which the 132° Gruppo (Squadron) depends. It was an opportunuty to witness, and put in history with photographs, this historic return from one of the most important air show in the world, perhaps the most important and famous of all, as well as greeting and congratulating the flight crews of the two aircraft.
